What Satisfies Your Mom's Sweet Tooth

Sure you can go to the big box store and waste your money on something made in Malaysia or Taiwan. But that can’t hold up to something tasty you have made with love for your Mom. Putting your personal touch on that candy, sweets, or type of a dessert made with love and care will make this Mother’s Day Gift a special one this year.

For those who want to have that personal touch but don’t have a traditional family recipe, try this one which is fast easy and simple and that that tradition by showing you Mom the love you have for her.

Chocolate Zebra Clusters

Total Time: Prep and Total Time – 30 Minutes
Ingredients Needed:
  •           2 Cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  •      12 ounces white candy coating , coarsely chopped, divided
  •      1-1/4 cups salted peanuts
  •      1-1/4 cups crisp rice cereal
  •      1-1/4 cups miniature marshmallows
  •      1 teaspoon shortening

Directions:
  1.  Line two baking sheets with waxed paper; set aside. IN a microwave, melt chips and 7 oz. whit candy coating at 70% power; stir until smooth. Stir in peanuts and cereal. Cool slightly; fold in marshmallows. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.
  2.  In microwave, melt shortening and remaining candy coating; stir until smooth. Transfer to a pastry or plastic bag; cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Drizzle over clusters. Refrigerate for 5 minutes or until set. Store in an airtight container. Yields 2 and a half dozen.
