Fun Father’s Day Treat Ideas

Father’s Day is almost here, and that means one thing: It’s time to figure out how to make your dad feel extra special this year! While gifts and spending time together go a long way, making a special dessert can turn a good day into a great one.

Read on for some of our best tips for making a special treat for your dad this Father’s Day:

  1. Father’s Day cake — While there’s always the traditional tie-shaped Father’s Day cake, think about doing something extra special this year. With our Dad Baking Form, you can bake a stunning cake that tells your dad how much you love him. Perhaps you could get him that extra special sports car he’s always wanted instead — in cake form! Wilton makes a great Sports Car Cake Pan that makes it easy to bake a sports car cake.
  2. Candy from his youth — Does your dad have a favorite candy from his childhood that you just can’t find anymore? Try making it at home! Whether it’s a certain flavor of lollipop or hard candy, chocolate with interesting fillings or other kind of candy bar, you can probably recreate it at home with only a few candy making supplies. Look online and see if you can find the recipe. If you can’t, try asking your father to describe the candy — be sure to ask about flavors and textures, as those are the two qualities that will make or break whether your candy passes his test.
  3. His favorite sweet treat — If there’s one thing we know about dads, it’s that they’re all different. Think about your dad and his unique tastes and preferences. Does he love cookies more than cake? Chocolatey treats more than fruity ones? If you can identify a few flavors or types of treats your dad prefers, you can probably find the perfect treat for him.
